I Have Dark Brown Furniture In My Living Room. Would Light Green Walls (think Sage) & Dark Brown Carpet Go?

 - by alek

I have a chocolate colored leather sofa and a dark cherry dining table. I would like to add some color by painting the white walls in my living room to a light sage green color. My only concern is what color carpet to select. Since I already have a brown furniture, would brown carpet be too dark? I have a toddler, so light colors like cream or beige aren’t an option. And I would prefer carpet over a wood floor for his sake. Thanks for any suggestions!

How Would I Start My Climate Change Essay?

 - by alek

I am currently doing a climate change essay for geography that is due tomorrow. Eeeeek!
I just need to know how would I start my essay off? The topic is “Is Canada doing enough to combat climate change,” and I am on the positive side, or that Canada IS doing enough to combat climate change.
I don’t want to start off my essay with my thesis, which will be after 2 sentences in the introduction paragraph!
PLEASE HELP!

What Would You Do If A New Report Stated Global Warming And Climate Change Was Worse Than Currently Believed?

 - by alek

Assume a new report by someone like the IPCC was released in three months time. The report states that the world is warming faster than previously thought and the potential consequences of climate change are more dramatic than we’ve seen so far, not radically different but perhaps 10 to 20% more serious.
Would it prompt you to start acting on climate change, to do more than you’re already doing, not to do anything…?

What Are The Titles Of Some Books A High School Student Would Read That Are About Climate Change?

 - by alek

I’m putting together a Multiple Text Resource. I need to know what book, that has to do with climate change or just weather in general, a high school student might pick up and find interesting.
My unit of study is titled: Weather, Climate & Climate Change.
I am also interested in any other resources that have to do with Earth Science.
Thanks!

Would This Be An Example Of Green Living?

 - by alek

If I were to move to my cabin that I have in the mountains. This cabin is nice and rather remote. It has no plumbing. It is not wired for electricity. It has a wood burning stove and fireplace for cooking and heat. I use lanterns for light. Solar power won’t work because of the tall pine trees that block the sun. I can use a horse to get around instead of a vehicle. Some of my food needs can be taken care of by fishing and hunting. I usually spend about two weeks there every summer. I’m not real sure if I would want to live like that all the time unless I really had to. How would this be for green living? Living in that cabin is almost like going back in time a hundred years or so. How would you like to try that out?
